• Why my index is different than the one I calculated from Google Scholar?
One motivation could be that, since we did some manipulation of the query string in order to improve the accuracy, the query you used and that we used are different. Moreover, our tool works for engineering and computer science people, so the GS advanced search checkbox related to those research fields should have been checked.
In order to compare your results with ours, you have to provide, between quotes, your first name, middle name and last name and check the option related to the research area.
The other reason could be a bug in our system: in this case we apologize for the error and gently ask you to provide us some feedback opening a new ticket.
  • What kind of data do you use for your computation?
Data are extracted from Google Scholar by sending, between quotes, first name, middle names and last name of the author specified.
  • Which kind of information do I get from your application?
Statistics about scientific impact of a researcher are computed: for further details, click here.
  • Why sometimes happens that I get more information for a certain author?
Because, for some authors, we have done some pre-processing, based on the information retrieved from Google Scholar, in order to provide more in-depth statistics.
  • Are your information up-to-date?
Simple statistics are always up-to-date, since they are computed on the fly. In-depth statistics could be outdated, because we have cached and stored them in our database.
